4th of July

I went to Puerto Rico this weekend. I got there at 3:00 pm on Friday and some friends picked me up at the airport. From the airport, we went to Boqueron to meet other friends, who were already there. On Friday night we went to the "Poblado", it is just the town where there are many little stores. You can find clothes, small sports bars, restaurants and people who sale tipic food on the street. I eat oysters and "Paella Mariscada" that I had a long time without eat them. The beach was really close from the apartment (like 10 min) but there were a lot of people so we had to get down early. In the mornings we went to the beach, at the afternoons we came back to the apartment and we enjoyed the pool and at nights we went to the poblado to eat, dancing and listening certain litlle bands. I love the beach and I really enjoyed this holiday.

My hometown

Judibana is a really small city with around 35.000 habitants. The weather is hot and humed but with strong winds. Nights are beatifull, the weather start getting chill and you can see a blue navy and starry sky. The moon shines iluminating all the city. My hometown has the 5th Oil refinery biggest in the world. Towers an tanks are visible from many points of the city. If you go toward the mountains you can find a cold weather. The drouht prevails the most of the year so we have a dry vegetation. Toward the north, just at 20 min are the beaches. West beaches are cold and east beaches are warm and deeper.

TOPIC: Something bad that turned out good

I went to Puerto Rico in February because it was my friend's son baptism. I just went because I really love that kid, but I didn't want to. When arrived around there, my friend's father was there waiting for us. We arrived on Wednesday and the baptism was on Sunday, so we have that few days to know Puerto Rico. I can say this Island is like a small Venezuela. It has many places alike. The weather is beautiful, beaches are wonderfull. I knew many people and now we keep the contact. At the end I changed my mind and I really enjoy this trip. I would like to visit Puerto Rico again!

TOPIC: Something about the USA / Atlanta that surprised you.

First time I went shopping here was really different for me. First at all, you take everything by yourself. If you like something you have to look for the size, number or color that best fit you. There is people at the store who can help you in case you need it, but is like a support. In Venezuela, when you go shopping you can't take anything. For example, if you go to a shoes store and you see and like ones, always is going to be someone who is there to look for the size or color that you want, because all items are inside in an unaccesible place for costumers. Furthermore, the stores here are really big and they are like multiples you can find shoes, clothes, home stuff, toys and many others. Usually in Venezuela you have one store just for clothes, another one for home stuff and it is like work around there. Eventually they have gone changing the vision and now we have some department stores incorporating to the existent market. Another thing that really surprised me is you can return what you buy just with your receipt. In Venezuela is not to easy, the most of the store don't accept returs and if they do it you have to change it for another item from the same store. Of course, I love to go shopping here and when I go to Venezuela I don't like to go shopping because there are many situations that annoy me.

TOPIC: PETS
My pet's name is Shorty. It is a beatiful dog. When I came here I couldn't bring it so my mom is taking care of him. In venezuela some people use to have dogs like pets. They are considered like the perfect domestic pet. You can find cats and diferents kind of birds like pets too. Sometimes, in the strangest way you see a monkey like my neighbor's pet. Her name is Panchita and she is so funny and naugthy. I really like pets, it's just when you decide to have one you must make sure you have the time and dedication that they really need.
